Timaru Hospital Visiting Restrictions

Now we’re at Alert Level 2 the Timaru Hospital will adopt the below visitor restrictions until further notice.

STRICT Visiting hours between 2pm-8pm only

ED, ICU, Maternity, Paediatrics and Level 1 Ward

  • One person can visit once per day only.

Level 3 Medical/AT&R Ward and Level 5 Surgical Ward

  • One visitor at a time between the hours of 2pm and 8pm
  • More than one person can visit during the visiting hours.

At all times, where a visitor is allowed to access the hospital, appropriate screening will take place before they are allowed to enter the care environment to ensure they are well and have practiced hand hygiene.

These measures are to ensure the safety of patients and staff by minimising avoidable contact and the potential for spread.
